Chainsaw level training

Chainsaw Level 1 - 4
On completion the students will be issued a National Recognised Statement of Attainment.

Chainsaw Level 1: gain required skills and knowledge to operate a chainsaw. Duration: 2 days.
Day 1: safe chainsaw operations, hazard & risk identification and control, maintenance, equipment
Day 2: chainsaw operations in a practical bush setting

Chainsaw Level 2 basic felling : gain required skills and knowledge to operate a chainsaw. Trees up to 50cm diameter and 20m height. Duration: 3 days.
Day 1: chainsaw theory & operations, hazard & risk identification, equipment maintenance
Day 2: chainsaw operations in a practical bush setting
Day 3: continue practice in forest environment, prepare & maintain falling equipment, assess conditions, tree & plan falling, fall trees

Chainsaw Level 3 intermediate felling: gain required skills and knowledge to operate a chainsaw. Trees up to 70cm diameter and 40m height. Duration: 3 days.
Day 1: chainsaw theory & operations, hazard & risk identification, equipment maintenance, chain sharpening
Day 2: chainsaw operations in a practical bush setting
Day 3: continue practice in forest environment, prepare & maintain falling equipment, assess conditions, tree & plan falling, fall trees

Chainsaw Level 4 advanced felling: gain required skills and knowledge to operate a chainsaw to fall any trees.
Duration: up to 5 days.
Day 1: chainsaw theory & operations, hazard & risk identification, equipment maintenance, chain sharpening
Day 2-5: chainsaw operations in a practical bush setting
in forest environment, prepare & maintain falling equipment, assess conditions, tree & plan falling, fall trees

Clearing Saw training Clearing Saw - Brushcutter
On completion the students will be able to perform Clearing Saw operations and maintenance.
Duration: 1 day

Content: OH&S regs and policies, PPE, safely operate a Clearing Saw and identify all parts, identify and explain hazards of a Clearing Saw and on site, Clearing Saw maintenance and sharpening.
Polesaw training Pole Saw
On completion the students will be able to perform Pole Saw operations and maintenance.
Duration: 1 day

Content: OH&S regs and policies, safely operate a Pole Saw and identify all parts, Pole Saw maintenance, correct cutting sequence.
Chipper Mulcher Wood Chipper/Mulcher
Gain skills to operate and handle a chipper.
Duration: 1-2 days
Content: conduct pre-operational checks, prepare for mobile chipping, chip timber, operator maintenance, site hazards, identify and explain all components of a chipper, service and maintenance.
working at heights Working at Heights
For persons in the construction industry and general industries to work above 1.5m from floor level with fall protection where required.
Duration: 1 day
Content: regulation and legislation, Australian standards, risk assessment, fall dynamics, inspection requirements, emergency plan and rescue, fall protection PPE.
