Construction Training

We provide training and assessment in construction skills and general construction for those who currently work in the industry and for those who are looking to get started in the construction industry and construction trade. These units are all nationally recognised, National WorkCover licences can be obtained on successful completion of assessment. We are able to provide Traineeships in Cert II General Construction.

Mobile Crane training Mobile Crane up to 60 tonne
Gain necessary skills to operate crane up to and including 60 tonne. Duration: up to 10 days.
Content: legislation in the workplace, plan work, lifting gear, slinging practices, calculations loads, rigging gear, crane operation, practical training, shut down procedures.
Dogging course Dogging
Gain skills to plan, prepare and complete dogging work.
Duration: 4 days.
Day 1 and 2: dogging theory
Day 3: practical sessions using a crane
Day 4: WorkCover assessment to gain National Licence.
Scaffolding training Scaffolding
Gain skills and knowledge to erect and dismantle scaffold.
Duration: 3 days.
Day 1: theory & practical introduction to the scaffold, OH&S, hazards & risk assessment, scaffold components identified and checked.

Day 2: Erect and dismantle scaffold, revision scaffold theory
Day 3: WorkCover licence assessment
Confined space theory. Confined Space
Gain skills and knowledge of working in confined spaces.
Duration: 1 - 3 days.
Content: legislative requirements, risk identification-assessment, recognise need for correct isolation procedures, conduct atmospheric procedures, determine correct equipment for Confined Space Work, safety equipment, complete an entry permit for entry into Confined Space, demonstrate Emergency Life Support techniques/safe entry procedures/rescue procedures.
Quick cut saw Quick Cut - Cut Off saws
Gain required skills and knowledge to operate and maintain a Cut-Off saw. On completion of the course the students will be issued a partial completion of a National Unit of Competence.
Duration 2 days.
Day 1: Cut-Off theory and personnel protective equipment, basic machine maintenance
Day 2: Cut-Off saw in practical work setting.
Construction - induction training White Card - Work Safely in the Construction Industry
This course is a legal requirement under OH&S regulation 2001 for any person working on a construction site.
Duration: 6 hours.
Content: OH&S responsibilities, consultation, emergencies, first aid, risk management, safe work method statements, hazardous substances, fire, safety signs, workers compensation
Working at heights training Working at Heights
For persons in the construction industry and general industries to work above 1.5m from floor level with fall protection where required.
Duration: 1 day
Content: regulation and legislation, Australian standards, risk assessment, fall dynamics, inspection requirements, emergency plan and rescue, fall protection PPE.
